This role offers the opportunity to work alongside talented trial attorneys and legal professionals on high-exposure construction defect cases within a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for assisting attorneys with drafting and responding to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, and requests for production. Additional duties include preparing deposition and hearing binders, managing trial preparation by coordinating witnesses and exhibits, reviewing and organizing construction documents, and handling large volumes of discovery, including e-discovery platforms and privilege logs. The paralegal may also attend site inspections in Southern California and maintain routine communications with clients, experts, and attorneys regarding case status and preparation.

A solid understanding of civil litigation procedures, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities are also required.
The compensation package includes an hourly pay range of $35-$46, depending on experience, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate as needed. Paralegals are eligible for an annual bonus ranging from $250 to $3,000 and receive a monthly technology reimbursement of $60. Comprehensive benefits coverage is offered, including health, vision, and dental plans, with some available at zero employee cost. Employees also benefit from a 401(k) program with matching contributions and paid parental leave at the base pay rate.
Tyson & Mendes is committed to fostering a culture that prioritizes respect, transparency, and inclusion. The firm offers a 37.5-hour standard workweek designed to promote balance and prevent burnout, an educational reimbursement program for non-attorney team members, and internal diversity and inclusion programs.
