Litigation Paralegal
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Raleigh. This role involves working closely with a lead attorney and litigation assistant to support the firm's mission of advocating for consumer rights. The position offers competitive pay and a generous bonus plan.
The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. Duties include e-filing court documents in state and federal courts, conducting legal research and factual investigations, preparing discovery documents and responses, drafting and serving summons, coordinating and summarizing depositions, and preparing trial binders and exhibits. Additional tasks involve drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, organizing exhibits and evidence, assisting attorneys with discovery requests, gathering relevant information, liaising between trial teams and third parties, and aiding in witness preparation and case settlements.
Candidates should possess an Associate’s Degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, with completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program preferred. A minimum of two years of experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney in a law firm setting is required. Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, first-party claims, medical malpractice, or other injury-related practice areas is preferred. The role requires the ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, and manage workload in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, along with strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
