The Mechanical IB position at CannonDesign involves working within a multidisciplinary team under the guidance of a licensed engineer. The role encompasses projects in new construction and renovation across sectors such as education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology.

Key responsibilities include designing uncomplicated piping and equipment selections for HVAC systems, preparing building load calculations using modeling software, and assisting with plumbing and fire protection designs as necessary. The role also involves Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC systems, editing specifications, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and conducting site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, with a preference for degrees from ABET-accredited programs. A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required, along with proficiency in engineering design software such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. EIT/FE certification and LEED accreditation are preferred.

The salary range for this position in the Chicago, IL office is $63,852 to $74,435 annually.
