Mechanical Project Manager
Latitude Inc., a well-established industrial mechanical contractor in the Mid-Atlantic region, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee complex mechanical construction projects. The company specializes in the installation, service, and maintenance of process mechanical systems within manufacturing and power generation environments. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. The position involves regular travel to job sites across the region; mileage reimbursement is provided.
The Mechanical Project Manager will lead industrial mechanical projects from initial planning, design coordination, and pre-construction through final completion and closeout. Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans encompassing scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. The role involves managing project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, and overall budget accountability. Coordination with engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and field construction teams is essential to ensure seamless execution. The manager will also review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure project alignment, and ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and applicable codes related to mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7+ years of project management experience within the mechanical construction industry. Prior experience working for a mechanical contractor is strongly preferred. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, plumbing, HVAC, and industrial/process systems, is required. Demonstrated experience managing large-scale industrial or commercial construction projects from start to finish is essential. Proficiency in project management tools and software, a strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and change order processes, and excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are also necessary. The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in both office and field environments are critical.
