Medical Malpractice/Nursing Home Defense Attorney

Wilson Elser is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Medical Malpractice/Nursing Home Defense Attorney to join their leading regional defense team specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare provider litigation. This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and is based in either the White Plains or New York City office.

The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload involving the defense of nursing home negligence claims. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of litigation, such as pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances. Maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive counsel is essential.

Applicants must possess a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in New York. A minimum of 5 years of defense litigation experience, with a strong focus on medical malpractice and nursing home negligence matters, is required. Demonstrated experience taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions, is essential. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are also necessary.

The position offers a salary range of $170,000 to $190,000 USD, along with an outstanding benefits package, including a 401(k) match and generous PTO plan.
