Mid-Market Account Executive
The Mid-Market Account Executive at LaunchDarkly plays a pivotal role in expanding the company's customer base by acquiring new mid-market clients and nurturing existing relationships. This position involves close collaboration with managers, sales engineers, and other team members to guide customers through the evaluation, purchase, and adoption of LaunchDarkly's platform. The ideal candidate is product-oriented, customer-focused, and possesses a strong work ethic, contributing significantly to the growth of the Mid-Market Account Executive team.
Key responsibilities include qualifying and converting inbound leads swiftly, successfully prospecting into ideal customer profile target accounts, and articulating the value of LaunchDarkly's platform subscriptions. The role also involves preparing and conducting discovery sessions with new prospects, understanding third-party architectures such as AWS, Azure, and GCP to accurately position and price the usage-based model, customizing and delivering demos with the Solutions Engineering team, and running proofs of concept for prospects. Additionally, the Account Executive is expected to build and develop relationships with existing customers, identify new opportunities, consistently meet revenue targets, and provide customer feedback to product and engineering teams.
Candidates should have a proven track record of hitting or exceeding quotas, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and be highly organized and autonomous. Comfort and energy in operating within a fast-moving organization are essential, along with an entrepreneurial and self-motivated mindset. Enthusiasm for learning and growth at LaunchDarkly, intellectual curiosity, and ambition are also important. While not mandatory, knowledge or experience in the developer tool space and experience selling to mid-market companies are considered advantageous.
Compensation for this role varies based on geographic zones within the United States. For Level P3 positions, the target pay ranges are as follows: Zone 1 (San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle) offers $133,000 - $182,000; Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago) offers $119,000 - $164,000; and Zone 3 (all other US locations) offers $113,000 - $155,000. In addition to salary, LaunchDarkly provides Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits.
