New York Incentives Associate

Clifford Chance, a leading global law firm, is seeking a New York Incentives Associate to join its Tax, Pensions, Employment & Incentives Group. This team advises public and private companies on remuneration, incentives, and employment tax matters worldwide. In this role, the associate will provide legal counsel on complex remuneration matters, including policy development, incentive design, and the remuneration aspects of corporate governance. Responsibilities encompass advising on share-based and cash compensation, such as all-employee plans, LTIPs, MIPs, and deferred compensation, as well as bespoke arrangements. The associate will also support major corporate transactions, including M&A, IPOs, and other transformational events.

Ideal candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school with high academic achievement. Experience in executive compensation, particularly in designing, structuring, and implementing equity-based compensation alternatives, is essential. Expertise in employment, retention, and separation agreements, along with strong public and private M&A experience, is also required. Candidates must be admitted to (or eligible to waive into) the New York bar and have prior experience in a peer law firm.

Clifford Chance offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $260,000 to $365,000 annually, with actual compensation commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
