Observability, Data Scientist
Graphcore is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team in Gdańsk, Poland, focusing on transforming large-scale infrastructure and hardware-level telemetry into actionable insights and automated decision systems. This role involves close collaboration with telemetry platform engineers to analyze data across the full stack, from data center infrastructure to chip-level signals, aiming to detect anomalies, predict failures, and optimize system behavior. The position operates at the intersection of data science, distributed systems, and infrastructure observability.
Key responsibilities include analyzing large-scale telemetry datasets across multiple layers, developing anomaly detection models for infrastructure-level events and hardware anomalies, building predictive models for fault detection and failure forecasting, and applying statistical and machine learning techniques to identify patterns and root causes. Additionally, the role involves designing automated remediation strategies informed by system and hardware-level signals, collaborating with engineering teams to integrate models into observability and control systems, and enabling closed-loop optimization using real-time hardware telemetry streams.
The ideal candidate will possess a BSc, MSc, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, along with strong experience in time-series data analysis and large-scale telemetry datasets. Proficiency in Python, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy, is essential. Experience with anomaly detection techniques, predictive modeling, signal processing, and data visualization tools is required. Familiarity with time-series databases, observability stacks, and monitoring systems, as well as a strong understanding of data pipelines and distributed systems, are also important. Excellent communication skills are necessary to translate data insights into engineering actions.
The position offers a salary range of PLN 350,700 to 474,400, subject to alignment with the responsibilities and duties of the role. Benefits include a competitive salary, annual leave policy, medical and dental health plans, a gym card, and an employee pension matched up to 4%. Graphcore reviews its benefits annually to ensure a valuable and rewarding program for employees.
