Of Counsel / Partner Commercial Litigation (Los Angeles)
Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is seeking an experienced attorney to join its litigation team as Of Counsel or Partner in the Downtown Los Angeles office. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an expanding practice that provides a range of litigation services to clients across various industries. The Downtown Los Angeles office, located in the historic Bunker Hill neighborhood, is within walking distance of Los Angeles County’s busiest state, federal, appellate, and complex courthouses. Since its debut in August 2024, the office has quickly distinguished itself by achieving successful outcomes in complex litigation matters and establishing a preeminent trial practice.
The selected candidate will be responsible for drafting and arguing discovery motions, dispositive motions, and class certification motions. Additional duties include preparing pleadings and discovery documents, managing document production, and taking and defending depositions. The role also involves assisting in both jury and bench trials, with an expectation to take the lead in case management and contribute to the growth of the office.
Candidates must possess at least 8 years of meaningful experience in product liability and toxic tort litigation within a mid-size or large law firm setting. Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills, strong academic credentials, and proficiency in case management are essential. Experience in asbestos, talc, and/or silica litigation is preferred. Admission to and good standing with the California Bar is required.
The compensation for this position ranges from $250,000 to $330,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
