The Operations Partner role at Bird in Providence, Rhode Island, is a pivotal position responsible for managing the logistics of the local fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes. This role is integral to Bird's mission of transforming urban mobility by ensuring that vehicles are charged, safe, and strategically positioned to meet the transportation needs of the community. As an independent contractor, the Operations Partner has the flexibility to operate as a solo entrepreneur or scale operations by deploying multiple drivers, depending on capacity.

Key responsibilities include utilizing personal or fleet vehicles to collect, deploy, relocate, and retrieve e-scooters and e-bikes across Providence daily. Partners can choose between two operational models:

- **Retrieve & Charge (Highest Margin):** Collect vehicles, charge them at a personal secured facility, and deploy them the next morning.

- **Retrieve & Drop-off:** Collect vehicles and transport them to the local Bird warehouse for charging.

Additional duties involve managing the end-to-end operation of the assigned portfolio, ensuring vehicles are available in high-demand areas, performing light field checks to maintain vehicle safety and environmental standards, and problem-solving in real-time to navigate local geography efficiently.

To qualify for this role, candidates must own or have consistent access to at least one large vehicle (van/truck) suitable for transporting multiple scooters/bikes. A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or applicable commercial license) with a clean driving record is required. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and perform tasks such as stooping, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods. A flexible schedule with a willingness to operate regularly, including weekends, is essential. Comfort with learning new mobile tools to manage the fleet and strong knowledge of Providence's local geography are also important.

This is a pay-per-task opportunity with earnings directly tied to output, offering an hourly rate between $20 and $30. As an independent contractor, partners are responsible for their own tools, equipment, and associated expenses. They have the autonomy to manage their own schedule and workload to meet Bird's operational needs.
