Operations Partner - Vernon - BC, Canada
Bird is seeking an Operations Partner in Vernon, British Columbia, to oversee the logistics of its e-scooter and e-bike fleet. This role is integral to ensuring that Bird's electric vehicles are charged, safe, and strategically positioned to meet the transportation needs of the local community. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your operations, whether as a solo entrepreneur or by deploying a team.
In this position, you will be responsible for the daily collection, deployment, relocation, and retrieval of e-scooters and e-bikes across Vernon. You can choose between two operational models:
- **Retrieve & Charge (Highest Margin):** Collect vehicles, charge them at your own secured facility, and deploy them the next morning.
- **Retrieve & Drop-off:** Collect vehicles and transport them to the local Bird warehouse for charging.
Additionally, you will perform light field checks to ensure vehicle safety and environmental friendliness, manage the end-to-end operation of your assigned portfolio, and navigate local geography efficiently to meet operational needs.
To qualify, you must own or have consistent access to at least one large vehicle (van/truck) suitable for transporting multiple scooters/bikes. Access to a garage, warehouse, or commercial facility with electricity is highly preferred for overnight charging. A valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record is required. The role demands the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and a flexible schedule with a willingness to operate on weekends. Comfort with learning new mobile tools to locate and manage the fleet is essential.
This is a pay-per-task opportunity with earnings directly tied to output, ranging between $20-$30 per hour. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own tools, equipment, and any associated expenses required to complete your work. You will manage your own schedule and workload to meet the operational needs of Bird.
