Operations Specialist - Driver - Providence, RI
As an Operations Specialist at Bird in Providence, Rhode Island, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of our electric scooter fleet. This part-time position, requiring a commitment of 20+ hours per week, involves driving, deploying, relocating, and preparing scooters to ensure a seamless and timely experience for riders. Your daily responsibilities will include safely operating a company vehicle to deploy and retrieve scooters, following routes provided via a mobile app. You will relocate scooters from low-demand to high-demand areas to optimize availability, perform basic diagnostics and quality checks on scooters and e-bikes, and support warehouse and fleet staging operations. Clear communication with teammates and the use of internal tools to meet daily goals are essential aspects of this role.
To be considered, you must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and a minimum of two years of driving experience. Comfort with using smartphone apps while on the move is necessary, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs is required. A team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills is essential, and proficiency in English is mandatory; bilingual abilities are a plus. Availability for weekend work and familiarity with local streets and neighborhoods are advantageous. Previous experience in delivery, logistics, rideshare, or warehouse work is beneficial.
