Paralegal Administrator
The Paralegal Administrator at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough plays a pivotal role in supporting the Paralegal Services team across multiple offices, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbia, Plano, Dallas, Houston, and Orlando. This position provides day-to-day guidance to paralegal coordinators and serves as a key support to the Paralegal Manager, ensuring consistent onboarding, training, workflow coverage, and adherence to firm policies. The role is integral to maintaining high standards of service delivery within the firm's dynamic legal environment.
Key responsibilities include managing, coaching, and mentoring paralegal coordinators, assisting with performance evaluations, recruiting, and compensation processes. The Paralegal Administrator acts as a liaison between coordinators, management, attorneys, and the paralegal committee, monitoring team workloads, coordinating staffing coverage, and identifying work allocation opportunities to ensure continuity of service. Additionally, the role involves assessing ongoing training needs, partnering with management and training resources to support development initiatives, and communicating firm policies and procedures while appropriately escalating team concerns and operational issues.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and at least eight years of paralegal experience, along with demonstrated experience in coaching, training, mentoring, or other leadership responsibilities. A strong understanding of law firm timekeeping practices, utilization concepts, and professional standards is essential. The candidate should have the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate team coverage, and make sound recommendations regarding workload distribution and overtime needs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, along with experience using matter management and document management systems, is required.
