The Virga Law Firm, P.A., a prominent family law firm in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join their team. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys and clients throughout complex legal proceedings.
In this role, you will manage sophisticated family law matters, including divorce proceedings, child custody cases, alimony determinations, and related family law issues. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the complete family law process from initial intake through trial preparation, maintaining comprehensive case files, assisting attorneys in drafting pleadings and legal correspondence, and preparing and filing family law pleadings, motions, and court orders. Additionally, you will collect, review, and organize discovery materials, prepare comprehensive financial discovery and child support guideline worksheets, and coordinate court appearances, mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of family law experience, demonstrated expertise in default proceedings and independent case management, proficiency with legal practice management software (Clio preferred) and document management systems, and a comprehensive understanding of Florida Family Law, including state-specific procedures and requirements. Strong abilities in financial discovery preparation and support calculations, excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational and documentation capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively in a demanding environment are essential.
The firm offers a competitive compensation package, with seasoned paralegals earning an average of $25.00 per hour.
