Paralegal
GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join their growing team in Bakersfield, California. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to contribute to high-level legal work within a well-established and highly respected law firm.
The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and post-trial activities. Key responsibilities include drafting, formatting, and filing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence; managing and organizing case files, exhibits, and trial materials; coordinating and assisting with discovery processes, including document production and review; preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials; maintaining case calendars and tracking deadlines to ensure timely filings; conducting legal research and summarizing findings as needed; and communicating with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
The ideal candidate will have over three years of litigation paralegal experience, with a preference for complex litigation experience. A strong knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation processes is essential, along with experience in e-filing in state and federal courts. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines are crucial. Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite, and a paralegal certificate or equivalent experience are also preferred.
GHJ offers a competitive base salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, along with comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, and vision) fully paid by the employer for employees and their families.
