Paralegal

Wilson Elser, a prominent defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices nationwide, is seeking a Paralegal to join their Houston office. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for 40% remote work, and involves supporting attorneys on various tasks within a dynamic legal environment.

The Paralegal will act as a floating resource, assisting attorneys with tasks such as conducting research via Lexis and social media, processing authorizations for records, ordering and maintaining production logs for records, reviewing and organizing document productions, drafting discovery requests and responses, and preparing materials for expert witness review, mediations, and depositions. Additionally, the role includes trial preparation responsibilities, including the organization of exhibits and witness materials.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree, with a paralegal certificate preferred, and have at least 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal or insurance claims handler in a fast-paced, high-volume, team-oriented environment. Experience in insurance defense is advantageous. The role requires proactive individuals with strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and clear communication skills, both oral and written.
