(Part-Time) Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts (EMEA)

DEPT® is seeking a part-time Legal Counsel specializing in Commercial Contracts to join our dynamic Legal Team in Amsterdam. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a group of pragmatic and business-focused legal professionals within a leading international agency. As a Growth Invention company, DEPT® operates at the intersection of technology and marketing, assisting ambitious brands like Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay, and OpenAI in accelerating their growth.

In this position, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial agreements, including client service agreements (such as MSAs, SOWs, and SLAs), supplier contracts, and licensing agreements related to IP, AI, software, cloud, and other technologies. You will provide clear and pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders across the EMEA region, acting as a trusted advisor to help navigate legal risks in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you will support the development and improvement of contract templates, policies, playbooks, and legal workflows, and deliver legal training to business teams on key topics.

The ideal candidate is a fully qualified lawyer, preferably from the Netherlands, Germany, or another European jurisdiction, with 3-5 years of experience in commercial and contract law gained in a law firm and/or in-house role. Fluency in both German and English is essential, as you will support German-speaking stakeholders and handle German language contracts and negotiations. Familiarity with German and Swiss law is advantageous. Experience in digital marketing, advertising, and/or technology services is preferred, along with working knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to these sectors, including GDPR and the EU AI Act.
