The Perma.cc Legal Digital Scholarship Project Manager will lead the integration of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) into the Perma.cc service, enhancing the preservation and sharing of legal scholarship. This role is situated within the Library Innovation Lab (LIL) at Harvard Law School, a collaborative environment dedicated to reimagining knowledge creation, preservation, and access.

Key responsibilities include analyzing current practices, gathering requirements, and tracking developments in legal citation standards related to DOIs. The manager will evaluate options for DOI minting, develop workflows for DOI assignment, and engage with stakeholders such as law journals, faculty, and clinics to establish procedures for DOI registration. Collaboration with technical teams to integrate DOI processes into existing systems and preparing documentation and policy recommendations are also essential aspects of the role.

Candidates should possess experience in scholarly communication, metadata, or digital preservation, with familiarity in DOI and other persistent identifier systems. Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills are required, along with experience in law libraries, legal publishing, or digital repository management. A minimum of five years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience is necessary.

This is a one-year term appointment, with the possibility of remote work for applicants residing more than 50 miles from the Harvard campus, subject to business needs and manager approval.
