Personal Injury Associate Attorney
The United Firm, also known as La Liga Defensora, APC, is a civil litigation firm specializing in plaintiff's side personal injury and school/government liability cases. As an Associate Attorney at The United Firm, you will focus on case strategy and professional development, with mentorship from senior attorneys and opportunities to participate in focus groups, trial preparation, and attorney skill programs. The firm provides support through AI technology aimed at improving productivity and efficiency, and expects trial participation, transitioning you into that aspect of the practice.
In this role, you will manage a caseload of various personal injury matters in litigation, prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients, including filing complaints, and draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes. You will prepare clients for depositions and other applicable hearings, take and defend depositions throughout the course of litigation, prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions, attend court appearances, negotiate settlements for personal injury cases, and direct and support investigations on all assigned litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of personal injury law experience, a strong background in personal injury litigation including pre-litigation case management and discovery, and be bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required). A Juris Doctor degree and current good standing with the California State Bar are required. Experience in workers' compensation is a plus, along with skills in written discovery and conducting depositions.
The compensation package includes a salary range of $80,000 to $160,000 per year, along with medical, dental, and vision insurance. Additional benefits include a 401(k) plan, complimentary parking, paid time off, and more.
