Platform Engineer
Capital on Tap is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their Core Infrastructure team in London. This team is responsible for building and maintaining a secure, cost-efficient cloud foundation that supports all product teams at Capital on Tap. The company offers a comprehensive suite of financial products designed to simplify business operations for small and medium-sized enterprises.
As a Platform Engineer, you will be tasked with developing and managing Azure infrastructure using Terraform, including creating reusable infrastructure modules and establishing a standard Kubernetes baseline. Your role will also involve overseeing network and edge services, such as Cloudflare, Istio, and Cato, and managing cloud identity and access through RBAC and service-to-service authentication. Additionally, you will work on consolidating secret and certificate management, automating infrastructure and container patching, and building infrastructure CI/CD pipelines.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing public cloud environments, particularly Azure, and be proficient in writing infrastructure as code with Terraform. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker is essential, along with a solid understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, load balancing, TLS, and CDNs or WAFs like Cloudflare. Experience with cloud identity and access management, RBAC, and secrets management is also required. Proficiency in a scripting language such as Go, Rust, PowerShell, or Python is necessary, and familiarity with building CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions is advantageous.
While not mandatory, experience with AI platforms or LLM APIs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Microsoft Foundry is a plus. Experience running a multi-cloud setup (Azure and GCP) and familiarity with zero-trust networking or tools like Cato are also beneficial.
