Post Silicon Validation Engineer
Graphcore is seeking a Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to join our Architecture and Validation team in Bristol, UK. In this role, you will be instrumental in validating cutting-edge, high-performance AI chips and platforms, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards for functionality and performance. As part of a collaborative, cross-functional team, you will contribute to bringing first silicon to life and supporting new product introductions.
Your primary responsibilities will include planning, designing, developing, and debugging silicon validation tests in bare metal C/C++ on FPGA/Emulator prior to first silicon. You will deploy these tests on first silicon, develop automated test frameworks and regression test suites in Python to optimize validation efficiency, and collaborate closely with engineers from various disciplines to implement best practices and continuous improvements to test methodologies. Analyzing test results, identifying and debugging failures, and contributing to shared test and validation infrastructure are also key aspects of this role.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in bare metal/embedded C/C++, a solid understanding of digital ASICs, and proficiency in Python and Linux. You should be highly motivated, a self-starter, and a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to solve complex issues. Experience with the post-silicon validation process in digital ASIC environments is essential. Desirable skills include driver-level experience with technologies such as PCIe, Ethernet, memory technologies (LPDDR, DDR, HBM), and other peripherals like I2C, I3C, SPI. Knowledge of mixed-signal building blocks, Arm CPUs, System IP, AMBA protocols, and an understanding of ML applications and their workloads are also beneficial.
In addition to a competitive salary, Graphcore offers flexible working arrangements, a generous annual leave policy, private medical insurance, a health cash plan, a dental plan, pension matching up to 5%, life assurance, and income protection. We also provide a generous parental leave policy and an employee assistance program that includes health, mental wellbeing, and bereavement support.
