Practice Specialist
The Practice Specialist at Hogan Lovells plays a pivotal role in supporting the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Group, collaborating closely with the Practice Area Lead, partners, and associates. This position is integral to the firm's Washington, D.C. office, contributing to the strategic and operational success of the practice. The ideal candidate is expected to exhibit strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the capability to handle confidential matters with the discretion of a senior executive assistant.
In this role, the Practice Specialist will assist in developing practice-specific initiatives aligned with the firm's strategic goals. Responsibilities include supporting marketing and business development efforts, such as tracking practice developments, raising awareness of key market trends, and developing practice policies. The position also involves composing weekly communications, including practice-specific office events and highlights, periodic newsletters, intranet postings, and news items to enhance internal practice awareness. Additionally, the Practice Specialist will coordinate meetings, events, and conferences, ensuring seamless execution and effective communication within the team.
Candidates should possess a typing speed of 60 words per minute, with excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams, is essential. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. A self-motivated individual who can work independently and demonstrate initiative is highly valued. Experience in a law firm or related environment, preferably in a large firm or company, is strongly desired. A minimum of five years supporting senior leadership in a professional services environment is preferred.
The annualized salary range for this position is $110,000 to $115,000, depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. In addition, full-time employees, as well as some part-time employees, are eligible for the firm's fringe benefits as they currently exist.
