Morgan & Morgan is seeking a dedicated Presuit Secretary to join our team in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This role involves close collaboration with case staff and attorneys to support the firm's mission of advocating for consumer rights. As a key member of our legal team, the Presuit Secretary will play a vital role in managing pre-litigation processes and ensuring efficient case handling.

The primary responsibilities include requesting medical bills and records, submitting coverage verification requests, and opening new cases by sending introductory letters. The role also involves managing claims by obtaining claim numbers, confirming coverage limits, and following up on disclosures. Additional duties encompass drafting and sending turn-down letters, verifying balances from medical providers, requesting cost checks, assembling demand packages, and handling file closures. The Presuit Secretary will also assist with client communications, document scanning, and general administrative tasks as needed.

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate or bachelor's degree in legal studies or a related field preferred. A paralegal certificate is a plus. A minimum of two years of experience as a legal assistant, litigation assistant, or administrative assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute, is essential. Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment, are crucial for success in this role.

This is an on-site position, offering the opportunity to be fully immersed in the work and gain direct experience alongside the team. Being in the office helps new team members get up to speed quickly and feel more connected. The position offers an hourly wage of $20.
