Principal AI Researcher (Agentic Systems & AI Infrastructure)

One of its ventures, Trase Systems, co-founded in 2023, focuses on simplifying AI adoption for enterprises by providing end-to-end solutions for deploying, managing, and optimizing AI systems. Trase has achieved significant recognition, topping the Hugging Face GAIA Leaderboard for Generalized AI Assistants, surpassing major industry players.
The Principal AI Researcher will lead the development of Trase's operating system, an agentic execution platform designed for autonomous systems in regulated environments. This role emphasizes the practical application of AI models within real-world execution environments, focusing on agent workflows, tool integration, long-term execution, and system reliability.
Key responsibilities include defining and advancing the AI/ML research strategy for Trase OS, conducting large-scale experiments, and translating cutting-edge AI research into scalable, production-ready systems. The researcher will design models for long-term execution environments, establish evaluation methodologies for autonomous systems, and make architectural decisions regarding orchestration, model serving, and infrastructure governance.
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, with at least 10 years of industry experience. Expertise in areas such as agent-to-agent learning, orchestration engineering, infrastructure governance for AI operating systems, long-term execution and memory systems, small language models (SLMs), model optimization, post-training adaptation techniques, and evaluation frameworks for autonomous agents is highly desirable.
