Principal, Development Strategy and Support Manager
The Principal, Development Strategy and Support Manager at PlayStation Studios plays a pivotal role in overseeing the portfolio title review process across all PlayStation Studios globally. This position involves direct collaboration with game studios to monitor and communicate the status of various titles, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include conducting periodic title reviews, both onsite at global studio locations and virtually, to assess project progress. The role requires coordinating internal reviews, partnering with studios, and liaising with departments such as user research, publishing, forecasting, and finance. Building trust and fostering positive relationships across development teams, executive leadership, and support groups is essential to drive alignment and effective project support.
Candidates should possess a minimum of six years of experience in game production, with a strong understanding of the game development lifecycle and industry best practices across multiple game types, genres, platforms, and business models. The ability to review and analyze development stage deliverables—creative, financial, and business-related—is crucial. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the capability to manage multiple projects with varying stakeholders. Familiarity with global teams across different time zones and experience with tools for user research, playtesting, and metrics analysis are also important. Leadership or managerial experience is considered a plus.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $186,200 to $232,800 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness programs, and employee discounts for Sony products.
