Principal Embedded SW/FW Engineer (Bringup)
Graphcore is seeking a Principal Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to join their Post-Silicon Validation team in Austin, Texas. This role focuses on validating cutting-edge AI chips and platforms, contributing to the company's mission of advancing artificial intelligence computing systems. As part of the SoftBank Group, Graphcore is expanding its AI Engineering Campus in Austin to play a central role in building the future of AI computing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, and debugging silicon validation tests in bare metal C/C++ on FPGA/Emulator prior to first silicon. They will deploy and debug these tests on first silicon, develop automated test frameworks and regression test suites in Python to optimize validation efficiency, and collaborate closely with engineers from various disciplines. Additionally, the role involves analyzing test results, identifying and debugging failures, contributing to shared test and validation infrastructure, and providing feedback to architects.
Essential qualifications include strong experience in bare metal/embedded C/C++, good knowledge of digital ASICs, and experience with the post-silicon validation process in digital ASIC environments. Proficiency in Python and Linux, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work across teams to find root causes of complex issues are also required. Desirable skills encompass driver-level experience with technologies such as PCIe, Ethernet, memory technologies (LPDDR, DDR, HBM), and other peripherals like I2C, I3C, SPI. Knowledge of mixed-signal building blocks, experience with Arm CPUs, System IP, debug tools, AMBA protocols, and an understanding of machine learning applications and their workloads are highly desirable.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $241,100 to $326,100, along with phantom equity and benefits.
