Privacy Counsel

Baker McKenzie is seeking a Privacy Counsel to join its esteemed team in San Francisco. The Privacy Counsel will be responsible for advising clients on a wide range of privacy and data protection matters, including compliance with global privacy laws and regulations, data breach response, and the development of privacy policies and procedures. The role involves conducting privacy impact assessments, negotiating data processing agreements, and providing strategic counsel on data governance and risk management.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be admitted to practice law in the United States. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in privacy law, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department, is required. Strong knowledge of global privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA, is essential. Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills are also necessary for success in this role.
