Privacy Counsel
LawVu, a leading provider of legal workspace solutions for in-house legal teams, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to supporting commercial contracting, data privacy matters, and legal operational processes across the organization. As a key member of the legal team, the Legal Counsel will provide timely and effective legal support for global sales and customer-facing activities, contributing to the company's growth and success.
In this position, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of B2B technology contracts, including SaaS subscription agreements, Master Services Agreements (MSAs), reseller and referral partner agreements, and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs). They will serve as the primary legal point of contact for customer deals and supplier negotiations, ensuring that contracts align with the company's commercial objectives and risk appetite. Additionally, the role involves providing guidance on intellectual property ownership and licensing, as well as advising on privacy and data protection requirements in a SaaS context, including cross-border data transfers and data processing arrangements.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with a current practicing certificate or equivalent, possessing over five years of post-qualification experience gained in a reputable law firm and in-house environment. Experience in commercial contracting, particularly involving technology or SaaS, is highly desirable. An interest or exposure to privacy and data protection issues is also beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are essential, as is a practical, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
