Product Manager, Portfolio Margin and Risk
Galaxy is seeking a seasoned Product Manager to lead the design and evolution of our portfolio margin and risk framework. This role is pivotal in defining the capital efficiency, safety, and scalability of Galaxy’s multi-asset, multi-instrument trading platform. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of trading, risk, quantitative modeling, and technology within a dynamic and innovative company.
The Product Manager will be responsible for designing and evolving a portfolio-based margin system that spans spot, futures, options, swaps, and structured derivatives. Key responsibilities include translating scenario-based and shock-based risk models into real-time margin calculations, collaborating with trading and risk teams to define margin methodologies, and partnering with engineering to implement scalable, real-time systems. Additionally, the role involves leveraging AI tools to prototype solutions, research design approaches, and accelerate iteration cycles between trading, risk, and engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in derivatives, portfolio risk, and margin infrastructure. A deep understanding of portfolio margin constructs, risk-based margin calculations, and the interaction of linear and derivative instruments in determining capital requirements is essential. Experience in building or enhancing margin systems at banks, exchanges, clearinghouses, or fintech trading platforms is highly preferred. Proficiency in using AI tools to create prototypes and detailed product requirements is also required.
