Product, Privacy and Regulatory Counsel
As a Product, Privacy, and Regulatory Counsel at Dialpad, you will play a pivotal role in integrating legal strategies with product innovation, data privacy, and regulatory compliance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Engineering, Security, Telephony, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success—you will ensure that Dialpad's AI-powered products are designed, launched, and scaled globally with embedded legal considerations. This position offers high visibility and direct engagement with Dialpad's executive team and enterprise customer base.
Your primary responsibilities will encompass advising on privacy-by-design principles, AI governance, and regulatory risks throughout the product lifecycle. You will support the development of legal frameworks related to AI training data, model governance, and compliance with regulations such as the EU AI Act and U.S. state AI laws. Additionally, you will contribute to Dialpad’s global privacy compliance program, manage data subject access requests, maintain data protection impact assessments, and oversee responses to data incidents, including breach notifications.
The role requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state. Candidates should possess a minimum of six years of relevant legal experience, ideally combining time at a recognized law firm with a focus on technology or privacy law, and in-house experience at a SaaS or technology company. Expertise in GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and familiarity with AI legal frameworks are essential. Strong communication skills and experience advising on product, privacy, and regulatory matters are also required.
