Nova Credit is seeking a Product & Privacy Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team in New York City. This role involves providing legal guidance on product development and privacy matters within a highly regulated industry. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and data science, to ensure compliance with various regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities include advising on legal and regulatory risks associated with products and features, maintaining the company's global privacy program, and guiding teams through privacy and related regulatory frameworks. The counsel will also serve as a thought partner on new product strategies and assist in embedding privacy-by-design principles into product development processes.

The ideal candidate holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and has active bar membership. They should possess over five years of relevant legal experience, including significant time in-house at a fintech, financial institution, consumer reporting agency, or a company operating in the consumer financial products space. Experience advising product, data, and engineering teams on complex legal concepts and familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FCRA, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, UK GDPR, and Canada's PIPEDA are essential.

Nova Credit offers a competitive salary range of $215,000 to $264,000 per year, dependent on individual experience, skills, education, location, and qualifications.
