Helsing is seeking a Production Engineer to join our maritime division in Plymouth. As a defense AI company dedicated to protecting democracies, we develop advanced technologies to enhance national security. The Production Engineer will play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes for mechatronic systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance.

In this role, you will develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will drive the setup and launch of a new mechatronic assembly line, design and implement manufacturing tools and procedures, and collaborate closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products. Additionally, you will support new product introductions by developing production plans and assisting with prototypes.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. You should have 2-3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within the maritime or defense industry. Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Inventor) is essential, along with a strong understanding of maritime materials and processes, including composite materials and CNC machinery. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities are also required.

We offer competitive compensation and stock options, relocation support, and social and education allowances. Regular company events and all-hands meetings foster a cohesive team environment across Europe. Our hands-on onboarding program, known as “Infraduction,” provides an opportunity to build tools and applications used company-wide, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of our tech stack and operations.

At Helsing, we operate in a domain with unique technical requirements and constraints, where robustness, safety, and ethical considerations are vital. Our work frequently takes us to the forefront of technical innovation, offering unique engineering and AI challenges that make a meaningful impact. We encourage healthy, proactive, and diverse debate internally about our work and how we choose to do it, fostering a culture of responsible autonomy and critical thinking.
