QA Automation Engineer
The QA Automation Engineer role at PlayStation Global in Dublin focuses on ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) applications. This position is integral to the development team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality releases that enhance the PlayStation user experience. PlayStation Global, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, is renowned for its innovative gaming products and services, including the PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4.
In this role, the engineer will design, create, and execute both manual and automated test plans and scripts to assess the functionality and performance of AEM sites. Responsibilities include conducting in-depth functional, regression, and performance testing of new or enhanced features, analyzing and monitoring software defects, and collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams in an agile environment. The engineer will also develop automated testing scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, Applitools, and Cucumber, and set up Jenkins with Maven to support continuous integration and development.
Candidates should possess a BSc/MSc or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong product development background. A minimum of three years' experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, including designing and executing test plans and scripts, is required. Proficiency in Adobe Experience Manager and related Adobe products, at least two years of test automation experience with Java and Selenium, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience in testing and supporting web and mobile applications, creating end-to-end test plans, and technical ability to triage issues in JIRA are also necessary.
Preferred qualities include an understanding of the gaming industry, knowledge of AEM, CRXDE, or comparable CMS tools, proficiency in test case and defect management tools such as JIRA, Wrike, QTest, and GitHub, and a passion for gaming and video game culture. An organized, self-starting approach with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple demands is also desirable.
