Gilbert + Tobin, a leading Australian law firm, is seeking a Real Assets Knowledge Lawyer to join their Real Assets practice group in Sydney. This team specializes in real asset transactions and asset management, integrating expertise across M&A, direct asset, banking and finance, development, planning and environment, and regulatory clearance. In this role, the Real Assets Knowledge Lawyer will lead the development and delivery of knowledge systems, thought leadership, and market-leading innovation initiatives for the group. Responsibilities include championing the Knowledge + Practice Innovation (KPI) strategy, effectively communicating with key stakeholders, enabling the flow of legal information within the group and externally, contributing to the development of thought leadership materials, drafting and collating written content, coordinating with lawyers and paralegals to prepare appropriate content, working closely with Transformation Lawyers to create and test workflows and AI initiatives, curating and maintaining practice group content within the firm’s knowledge systems, acting as a trusted resource for lawyers in the group, and developing and implementing a training strategy for the group.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of post-admission transactional experience, with a focus on real assets spanning real estate, infrastructure, and related asset management work. Experience using PEXA is also desirable. Candidates should possess specialist legal knowledge relevant to real asset transactions and asset management, advanced legal and general research and analytical skills, excellent writing and drafting skills, the ability to quickly comprehend new legal concepts and communicate them clearly, strong organizational skills, capacity to use and improve knowledge systems, workflows, and AI-enabled tools, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
