DLR Group, a 100% employee-owned integrated design firm, is seeking a Region Counsel to join their legal team in Overland Park, Kansas. The firm specializes in architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design, with a mission to elevate the human experience through design. As a Region Counsel, you will serve as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance on a wide range of legal matters across the Central, North Central, Northeast, and Southeast regions.

In this role, you will draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with the firm's objectives and risk tolerance. You will collaborate with the legal team to enhance department processes, systems, and tools, and provide legal guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle to mitigate risks and achieve business objectives. Additionally, you will contribute to firmwide legal education initiatives by developing and delivering training and fostering strong partnerships across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. A minimum of 5 years of legal experience in the design and construction industry is required, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong business acumen, practical judgment, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams are essential. Familiarity with AIA and DBIA standard forms of agreement is preferred.
