The Regulatory Counsel position at Bandwidth is a vital legal role that sits within the growing and dynamic Legal team of this global communications technology company. Bandwidth specializes in innovative communications API solutions, enabling its clients to build voice, messaging, and emergency services into their software and products. As part of a collaborative legal function, the Regulatory Counsel will work closely with colleagues across legal, compliance, and government affairs functions, supporting the company’s operations and expansion in the rapidly evolving telecom industry.

This role is primarily focused on telecommunications regulatory matters, including the interpretation and application of FCC and state rules, advocacy in regulatory proceedings, and the development and maintenance of company policies to ensure ongoing compliance. The Regulatory Counsel will engage regularly with external regulators, internal teams, and industry stakeholders, monitor legislative and regulatory changes, and provide timely, practical advice to business units. The day-to-day work involves drafting regulatory filings, supporting audits, reviewing customer agreements for compliance, and assisting with strategic initiatives that align with Bandwidth’s business growth and risk mitigation goals.

Ideal candidates will have a J.D. from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Significant experience in telecommunications law, preferably through working at a law firm, regulatory agency, or in-house legal department is required, with a strong understanding of relevant statutes like the Communications Act. Candidates should bring excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple complex projects independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
