As a Research Product Manager at Thinking Machines Lab, you will play a pivotal role in driving complex, high-impact technical products and programs that span research, infrastructure, and applied domains. You will help turn ambitious ideas into reality by leading cross-functional efforts, maintaining project momentum, and creating clarity in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. Your work will connect people, ideas, and systems to ensure that our most important research initiatives stay aligned, well-scoped, and moving forward efficiently.

Key responsibilities include driving and coordinating large-scale research products and programs, ensuring that complex projects are executed efficiently, transparently, and with scientific excellence. You will translate technical ideas into actionable, well-scoped plans, defining milestones and keeping teams aligned across model development, data campaigns, infrastructure, and product integration. Collaborating across disciplines—from research and machine learning infrastructure to legal and business development—you will ramp up quickly on new domains as needed. Additionally, you will create and maintain compute and resource roadmaps, identifying bottlenecks, trade-offs, and opportunities to accelerate progress. Synthesizing and communicating progress across diverse technical teams, you will ensure the right people are looped in at the right time and that information flows smoothly across the organization. Supporting the integration of new technologies and research insights into production systems and product roadmaps, you will bridge the gap between frontier research and real-world applications.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, physics, engineering, or a related field, along with experience in research program management, product management, or similar roles. Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD in a relevant field, past experience at a frontier or academic research lab contributing to artificial intelligence research, and publications relevant to AI or frontier models. The ability to learn new technical domains and strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal, are also highly valued.

Thinking Machines Lab offers a competitive compensation package, with an expected annual salary range of $175,000 to $475,000 USD, depending on background, skills, and experience. Benefits include generous health, dental, and vision coverage, unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, and relocation support as needed. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates.
