Revenue Accounting Manager (14-month fixed-term contract)
Canva is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager for a 14-month fixed-term contract to cover a parental leave period. This role is integral to the Finance team, focusing on managing and navigating the complexities of revenue accounting, systems, and operations as the company continues its rapid growth and expansion of product offerings. The position is based in San Francisco, CA, with consideration for remote applicants within California or Washington.
The Revenue Accounting Manager will be responsible for month-end close activities, including generating journal entries for revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS), completing reconciliations, and performing fluctuation analysis to ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards. Additional duties include pulling key performance indicators (KPIs), performing internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements, assisting with system implementations or enhancements to create a seamless quote-to-cash process, and identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation within the quote-to-cash and COGS areas.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with a CPA designation considered a plus. The role requires 5-8+ years of experience in quote-to-cash or similar finance roles, particularly within public company environments focusing on month-end responsibilities such as creating journal entries, fluctuation analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. Experience with NetSuite or RevPro is advantageous. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills are essential, along with knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606 (US GAAP) and IFRS 15, and experience working with COGS and margin analysis.
The target salary range for this position is $141,000 to $210,000 annually, with compensation decisions based on market data and the candidate's skills and experience.
