Scientist II, Analytical Development, Gene Editing and Molecular Assays
Legend Biotech is seeking a Scientist II to join the Analytical Development team, focusing on gene editing and molecular assays. This role is integral to the company's mission of developing advanced cell therapies across various platforms, including CAR-T and NK cell-based immunotherapies. The position is based in Somerset, New Jersey, where the company is headquartered.
The Scientist II will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and qualifying molecular biology methods such as vector copy number (VCN) analysis, gene editing proficiency assessments, and various titer measurements. Key duties include routine testing of final products, stability, and in-process samples, as well as data review and verification. The role also involves authoring and revising technical documents, maintaining accurate lab records, and managing laboratory equipment and inventories.
Candidates should possess a BS with 6-8 years, an MS with 4-6 years, or a Ph.D. with 1-3 years of relevant experience in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Experience in assay development and GMP QC testing of biologicals, including qPCR, dPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, and cell-based assays, is essential. Proficiency in analytical method qualification, validation, and tech transfer for biologics is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are also required.
