Security Engineer
Tenable, Inc. is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to join their team in Sydney, Australia. As a leading provider of exposure management solutions, Tenable helps organizations worldwide understand and reduce cyber risk. The Principal Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting enterprise opportunities by delivering technical expertise and driving sales through comprehensive product demonstrations and evaluations.
In this role, the Principal Security Engineer will engage with prospective clients to identify their security challenges and business objectives. They will map Tenable's unique value propositions to address these needs, perform customized product demonstrations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence product direction. The position requires up to 25% travel within the assigned territory.
Candidates should have prior experience in a security-related technical pre-sales role, with the ability to craft tailored demonstrations and lead discussions at both technical and executive levels. A strong self-starter attitude, teamwork skills, and interpersonal acumen are essential. Ideal qualifications include experience with Nessus or other network security technologies, a solid understanding of TCP/IP and network security concepts, and familiarity with enterprise-class operating systems at the security admin level. Experience with cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as knowledge of Docker, DevOps, API scripting, and Python SDK, are advantageous. A BS in Computer Science or related field, along with 10+ years of direct Security Engineer experience, is preferred. Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or CEH are also desirable.
