Senior Accountant

Legion is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team in a hybrid role based in Bangalore or Pune, India. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven company dedicated to transforming hourly jobs into good jobs.

In this role, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing customer contracts and creating Sales Orders in NetSuite to ensure proper revenue accounting treatment. They will collaborate with Sales and Legal teams during contract negotiations to identify non-standard terms, discounting issues, or revenue recognition risks. Additional duties include ensuring accurate billing of complex sales orders and milestones, preparing and reconciling deferred revenue, unbilled accounts receivable, and commission accrual journal entries, and supporting payroll data alignment between HR and Accounting for multi-country compensation processing.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field, with at least five years of accounting experience at a global, U.S.-headquartered company. A strong background in general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close processes is essential. Proficiency with NetSuite is required, along with a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and revenue recognition principles, including exposure to ASC 606. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for managing competing priorities and resolving financial discrepancies.
