Senior Architectural Designer- Lab and Data Center Engineering
Graphcore is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer to lead the architectural coordination of lab, data center, and office space projects within our Data Center Engineering organization. This role involves acting as the owner's representative, collaborating with technical leaders, consultants, contractors, and vendors to deliver high-performance workplace and infrastructure solutions. The position is based in Austin, Texas, with an expectation of approximately 10–20% travel.
The Senior Architectural Designer will be responsible for leading architectural coordination from programming through construction and turnover. Key duties include developing owner requirements, architectural standards, and high-level specifications aligned with Graphcore’s operational and workplace goals. The role also involves reviewing drawings and specifications for quality and compliance, coordinating internal stakeholders and external partners, and overseeing construction administration tasks such as responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site inspections.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. Essential qualifications include a solid understanding of building envelopes, partitions, doors/hardware, finishes, codes, accessibility, and life-safety considerations. Experience with construction administration, contractor coordination, and proficiency in tools like Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit are required. Desirable qualifications include experience with critical environments such as laboratories or server rooms, architectural licensure or pursuit thereof, and familiarity with office, lab, or data center design standards.
