Greenfire Law, PC, an award-winning public interest boutique law firm based in Berkeley, California, is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with a minimum of seven years of litigation experience. The firm specializes in environmental law, animal law, wildlife law, land use, open government, and nonprofit organizations, representing citizen plaintiffs and non-profit groups in state and federal courts across the United States.

The Senior Associate will be responsible for developing new cases in close collaboration with clients, conducting factual investigations, developing legal theories, drafting pleadings and briefs, and managing cases in state or federal courts and administrative agencies. Additional duties include representing clients in complex cases involving all aspects of litigation, collaborating on litigation strategy and trial work, supervising associates and support staff, and cultivating partnerships with community groups and organizations.

Candidates must be admitted to the California State Bar and possess substantial litigation experience, with the ability to manage cases independently from inception to resolution. Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills are essential. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to serving the public interest through environmental litigation. Willingness to travel as needed and to foster an inclusive work environment is also important.

The position offers a salary range of $100,000 to $140,000 per year, along with benefits including 401(k) matching, dental and vision insurance, health insurance, disability insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and professional development assistance. The firm requires a 1,600 annual billable hour commitment, with a standard 8-hour workday from Monday to Friday. While the primary work location is in Berkeley, there is potential for remote work upon demonstration of the ability to meet work objectives remotely.
