Senior Business Development Manager, Technology and Intellectual Property
Gilbert + Tobin, a leading Australian law firm with over 500 lawyers, is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth in its Technology and Intellectual Property (IP) practice. The Senior Business Development Manager will lead and refine the growth strategy for the Technology and IP practice, aligning it with the firm's objectives. Responsibilities include developing annual business plans with clear commercial goals, monitoring sector trends, providing data-driven insights on revenue and client performance, and driving strategic client targeting. The role also involves facilitating cross-practice collaboration, supporting significant pursuits and proposals, preparing client materials, coaching partners for client meetings, and planning campaigns and events aligned with sector priorities.
Candidates should have over eight years of experience in business development, client management, or strategic marketing, preferably within a law firm or legal environment. A strong understanding of the technology sector and its commercial landscape is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering impactful business development and client engagement programs, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders. A collaborative and adaptable approach is also important.
