Senior Cloud Security Engineer
N26 is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to lead efforts in identifying and mitigating security threats within our AWS infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with the Platform and Data teams to safeguard sensitive data and enhance the organization's overall security posture. The Infrastructure Security team at N26 is dedicated to detecting and remediating IT and cloud infrastructure security threats, providing efficient services that empower our tech teams.
Key responsibilities include driving the Cloud Infrastructure Security function roadmap in alignment with the Product Manager, Tech Lead, and Engineering Manager. The role entails designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native security solutions with advanced threat detection, automated controls, and remediation mechanisms to ensure continuous compliance. Additionally, the engineer will perform threat modeling sessions, assess and classify security threats, monitor vulnerabilities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks. Participation in the security incident response on-call rotation and leading security incidents are also part of the role.
The ideal candidate will have a competent understanding and experience in securing AWS cloud infrastructure environments, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and Linux systems. Experience with assessing security findings and mitigation strategies, as well as knowledge of common security frameworks and tactics, including STRIDE, MITRE ATT&CK®, and OWASP, are essential. Proficiency in using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Terraform) for implementing automated security testing and change management, along with scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go, is required. A Master's degree in cybersecurity or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in computer science with an advanced security certification, is preferred.
