Senior Corporate Counsel
Ripple is seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Senior Corporate Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to support Ripple's diverse product lines, including payments, custody, and stablecoin, while managing key vendor contracts. The position reports directly to Ripple’s Deputy General Counsel and is integral to the company's mission of implementing innovative financial solutions.
The Senior Corporate Counsel will assist the sales and business development teams with various commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating term sheets and definitive documentation, as well as managing the deal process. Responsibilities also include reviewing, negotiating, and developing templates and processes for vendor agreements, managing and budgeting for external advisors engaged on such projects, and assisting with other commercial or corporate matters as needed.
Candidates must possess a J.D. from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials and have a minimum of 7 years of practice, ideally as a corporate attorney at a major law firm and at a fintech startup. The role is based in New York or San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work cross-functionally with Ripple’s product, marketing, engineering, security, tax, and finance teams to ensure agreements align with internal corporate policies and processes. Outstanding problem-solving skills, judgment, communication, and interpersonal abilities are essential, along with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and act decisively. Competence in presenting complex issues clearly and concisely, providing succinct, practical, and effective legal advice, is also required.
