The primary responsibilities of this position include negotiating, drafting, and reviewing a variety of complex commercial agreements, particularly those related to project development, construction, procurement, and energy storage partnerships. The Senior Counsel will handle contract management, risk assessments, and collaborate closely with internal business teams to ensure projects proceed smoothly and in compliance with all applicable laws. Additionally, this role involves advising leadership and various departments on legal issues, supporting due diligence efforts for project financing, acquisitions, and project execution.
Candidates for this role must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Significant experience in the renewable energy industry, sophisticated commercial contract drafting, and negotiation are critical. The ideal applicant will possess excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment. A strong working knowledge of energy markets and project finance is highly desired.
