Senior Counsel, Data Privacy (Bangkok-based, Relocation provided)

Agoda, a leading online travel agency, is seeking a Senior Counsel specializing in Data Privacy to join their dynamic legal team in Bangkok. This role offers an exciting opportunity to guide Agoda's global privacy strategy, collaborating closely with Product, Marketing, Tech, and Customer Experience teams. The position is based in Bangkok, with relocation support available for eligible candidates.

As Senior Counsel, Data Privacy, you will be responsible for proactively partnering with Product and Tech teams from concept to launch, conducting privacy impact assessments, and translating complex global regulations into practical, scalable product requirements. You will also provide privacy counsel to marketing teams across various strategies, negotiate and draft privacy provisions in contracts, manage regulatory changes, and lead privacy legal advisory on the deployment of generative AI and machine learning models.

The ideal candidate will have over six years of post-qualification experience, including at least two years at a reputable law firm, and a law degree from a top law school. A deep practical knowledge of major international privacy laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, PIPA, APPI, DPDPA, and PIPL, is essential. Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills are required, along with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively in a diverse environment.
