Senior Counsel (General Liability/Coverage)

Tyson & Mendes LLP, a nationwide litigation firm specializing in insurance defense, is seeking a Senior Counsel for General Liability and Insurance Coverage in San Diego, CA. Founded in 2002, the firm has grown to over 250 attorneys across 18 states, aiming to be the best insurance defense firm in the country.

In this senior role, the attorney will lead high-exposure general liability cases and insurance coverage matters, developing compelling case strategies and maintaining high standards in all aspects of practice. Responsibilities include independently handling court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials, collaborating with attorneys at all experience levels, and providing leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys.

Candidates should have a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, an active bar license in California, and over 8 years of litigation experience in general liability insurance defense and insurance coverage matters. Proficiency in time management systems and the MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience, with eligibility for annual billable hours bonuses.
