Senior Counsel, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and AI Governance

In this role, the Senior Counsel will collaborate closely with the Information Security, Commercial Operations, and Engineering teams to establish scalable legal frameworks that support innovation in connected and data-driven vehicle technologies. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing a comprehensive global data privacy program, advising on compliance with applicable laws and regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, and partnering with Commercial and IT teams to build a consumer privacy regime for Scout Motors' direct-to-consumer business. The Senior Counsel will also be responsible for drafting privacy policies, advising on data protection terms in agreements, and supporting incident response for privacy-related matters.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data protection, product cybersecurity, and emerging AI regulation, with experience building programs from the ground up in a fast-paced environment. A strong background in advising on vehicle cybersecurity requirements, including secure software development and vulnerability management, is essential. The candidate should also have experience supporting compliance with automotive regulatory regimes governing cybersecurity and software updates, and be capable of collaborating with IT, security, and engineering teams on risk assessments, audits, and mitigation strategies.
